*Vizslas have a short, sleek coat that requires minimal grooming. They do shed. The coat is an attractive golden rust color. The tail is normally docked to two-thirds of the original length.
*They are very good at alerting you to anybody coming to the door. However, they can be loud and rowdy and must be taught not to jump on guests.
*They are generally very good with considerate children and are naturally protective of them. However, young children should not be left unsupervised with any dog.

The Vizsla has a huge desire to be close to human. Vizsla's reach their full potential when allowed to live as true family members.
*The Vizslas were companion dogs of the early Kings and aristocracy and held in high esteem by their owner. For centuries, only the nobles were allowed to keep them. They were used for general-purpose hunting dogs though Vizslas are the best as upland bird dogs, where its excellent scenting and retrieving characteristics have been widely acclaimed.
